Heading over the bridge and onto deeper territory in Missouri, we headed to St. Charles.
It was a little bit of a trek but absolutely worth it. We headed to a very peculiar little town, that from the outside might puzzle some.
New Town. Driving by, you would assume this place is just a normal old subdivision, but inside is a whole new story.
Driving IN, is where the fun begins. New Town is a small town inside the town of Saint Charles. Cute little houses with beautiful decks, families walking about, beautiful exposed brick buildings, it almost reminded me of down town New Orleans.
Once you drive deeper in, you notice all the amenities the town has. Restaurants, an ice cream shop, a sprawling canal with people kayaking and paddle boarding, a church, a small grocery store. We even noticed a sand volleyball net available for people to use. (and boy, were they using it.)
Residents here don’t even have to leave this community, it’s all here! Community is a key word here, as everyone here feels connected and like family.
So of course, as my boyfriend excitedly showed me this place that he discovered on one of his Uber rides, our eyes went straight to their local coffee shop.
The Bridge Coffee House, located in the middle of the quaint town, is a faith based coffee shop and our next stop.
Me and my boyfriend decided to set up shop on the outside, due to the beautiful weather and the bright green trees framing the roads. Total serenity and peace for me to write.
Inside was cute and cozy, lots of places to sit, a small store, and a whole separate room they use for events and worship. The menu was neatly written on a chalkboard above, and the baristas were happy and willing to answer all of our questions.
Bridge Coffee house partakes in fair trade, so they provide coffees from all around the world, for you to buy and even bags of it to take home. They also provide an internship to people who want to become pastors, something that really sets this coffee shop off from the rest. Thinking about it, this is our first ever faith based coffee shop we have visited. There was even a prayer board for locals who need a little extra help from God.
As for our orders, I myself got an iced americano, and my boyfriend got his usual chai latte. The menu was very traditional, and I wanted to see how they fared against others.
Sitting outside, we heard the hustle and bustle of the town. Kids chattering, bird chirping, golf carts whizzing by. Despite not even living here, it felt like home. So the atmosphere is set, it was time to try out drinks!
My americano was good. Refreshing and didn’t have too extreme of a bite, but my boyfriend’s drink was on a whole new level. It tasted like Christmas in a cup. Very fragrant, spiced perfectly well, I haven’t had a chai latte that good in awhile.
What really stands out to me about this coffee shop is definitely the unique location, and it’s faith. I felt extremely at peace here, and good conversations and feelings were had along with good coffee.
